Hello Senseo Lovers,
sorry that I do not write in dutch, but because the Netherlands are the homeland of the great Senseo Idea, I want to introduce my autostart-feature, which can be retrofitted to nearly every senso coffee maker:
With the retrofit of this small additional autostart electronic the wait for the Senseo Machine to warm up ends: After switching on your Senseo, you can immediatly DOUBLE CLICK on one of the start buttons and the machine will start to brew automatically when the water is heated up. The pending brew process is indicated by a red/blue flashing of the power indicator of the machine an can be stopped (if necessary) by pressing one of the buttons again.
The small electronic fits (see picture, in the foreground) into the free space inside of the machine’s socket and is easy to integrate: Just solder five coloured wires + the additional blue LED to some Testpoints of the original Senso-PCB. No additional switches or holes are required, as the existing switches are used and the additional LED uses the same light guide as the red one.
The proper testpoints on the PCV can be found in a reference table on my website by name & by picture.
That is in fact less solder work than for the popular Elko/X2/Triac repair kits – and it requires no changes on the original PCB, it is a real add-on. I think it can be done by every person who has enough self-confidence to solder something in a household machine (…same as the repair kits.) Up to now I have upgraded around ten machines without any complaints. The first Picture shows the upper side of an upgraded hd7825/60, the second the solder side of a HD7810 /90 /E with the new connections.
The autostart electronic (Dimensions 10x15mm) itself consists of a small PIC10F102 Microcontroller, a small PCB, one Resistor and the LED. The source code for the controller is open source, sourcing information for all components is given – and I have no commercial interests, I just want to share the solution.
Only (but maybe minor) problem - the documentation is in german:
If you have any questions, need help for programming the controllers for a kind of centralized buying, please ask me here in the forum or write me an email.
Best regards,
Christian
By the way: The Senseo Twist now has the autostart-feature built in, but only for your “self defined” coffee – maybe the people at Philips wanted to have some features as trump cards for future models, when the sales are declining.
Nice write up, thanks !
